Oquirrh Mountain Temple
Today was to Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication. It was really neat, as the 2nd on this summer that I have had the opportunity to attend.
We made it there but the doors were already locked, although Bro. Christensen was there and let us in. we were sent to find a spot in the high counsel room, which I think was one of the better seats. They showed a lot of pictures of the temple while were waiting, especially of the "Mirror room", as my little sister likes to call it.
There were a few speakers, most of which talked to the youth in attendance, I thought that it was really cool that they would direct there attention to the little kids, to prepare to enter the temple. They talked of the importance of the youth programs like the Personal Progress, Faith in God, and Duty to god, as the pathway to entering the temple and getting your endowments.
One of the speakers encouraged the youth to write in their journals, and record how we felt during the dedication. I felt the spirit throughout the meeting, I know that there are where ever there is a temple there is a house of God. Although there are temples all around the world, I believe that there are also other holy places, When Moses saw the burning bush, he was told to remove his shoes because he stood on holy ground, I believe that where ever Heavenly Father resides is holy. That could be in your own homes, in the mountains, and in nature itself.
I was once told that the sacred Grove in New York is to far away, you need your own sacred grove. Although there aren't any wooded places close by, there are place that I can go to talk to my Heavenly Father.

Quick Catch Up:)
When ever I work on designing my blog, I usually don't postL so I am trying to make that not so.
I don't even know where to start. So I guess I will start with Basketball tournaments for Jed. Jed played in 2 recruiting tournaments and got 2 Major scholarships. He got more than 2 but the ones that he his trying to pick between is Houghton University, and Southern Virginia University. I am excited for him, but school starts in like 3 weeks, that means that he will be gone in two!!! It also means that he is leaving next week to go and tour them, another few days without my brotherL.
Work with the Horses is doing well, but we will see what happens when school starts (yikes!). However I left for a week, only to find that I am now in charge of only 6 horses including my own 3 in my section, as opposed to the 11 that I had when I started. There were 3 that moved in the last week!!!
We went to spend 2 days in SLC 2 weeks ago and wouldn't you know it, we stayed for a week and a half! So it has put us behind in a lot of things, including seeing my BFF who has been here all summer and leaves next week, but she is far enough away that I haven't seen her yet! I hope that we do get to see each other.
While we were in SLC we got the news that my Great Aunt Janet, died of a brain tumor last Mon. She was always friendly and happy, but has been battling cancer of one form or another for a few years now. Her Funeral was Sat. and even though it was under sad circumstances, it was fun to see all my cousins that I don't get to see very often, I think we made a record, and saw some cousins that we haven't seen in forever twice in the last 3 months! Although the first meeting was betterJ

Happy 4th!!!
I guess I could start with last week. Last week was Girls Camp (Was it really only last week!?!) WE went to Navajo Lake, and had a great time. It did rain ion us on Thursday and Friday, but other than that it was great. We went on a bike ride (Navajo Lake trail) that was really fun. We went on a hike that was also way fun and challenging:) I think that the most spiritual thing that I did was a Hold to the Rod activity. My great leaders had made a trail that was like walking through Lehi's dream, They had a Great and Spacious building (The bathroom), they had a river (Tarps that they laid on and tried to got you to help them/pull you off while walking across a log) Them they put blindfolds (Mist of Darkness) on us and put our hands on "The iron Rod" (A rope tied between trees) and had us walk holding to it while they tried to per sway us to let go and follow them. At the end the had music playing, a pine tree that they had decorated with the fruit (Temple Paper Molds). It was really fun and cool.
After Girls camp I had some unexpected things happen. On Monday I got a call from C.W. saying that she was trying to leave town - back to where Koda is from - and that if I wasn't going to ride him she could take him back until the beginning of October, or we could see if we could work out a deal from C.J. to see if we could keep our horses there, since the horses didn't have shade, and Koda's owner said I could only keep him if he had shade. So I called C.J. to see what I could do. I Learned that she needed someone to muck out stalls, and that I could trade work for boarding. So I said that that was awesome, and that I could start this week. Well I didn't know that It would be so much, I have to pay $100 each horse per month. and I need to work of 3 horses at $125 a month at $5 and hour. So I am trying to work that off.
On Tuesday, I had a neighbor call and ask if I could start making cookies for her, and that she wanted 6 dozen cookies to begin with for her freezer:) I Haven't finished working it out with her though.
Finally to this weekend. Yesterday We spent preparing for a community party, including a "The Stars and Stripes 5k Stride", Breakfast and games. We also had a flag raising ceremony for a flag that Mom has been helping with for a scouts eagle project, and they also dedicated the other 28 Eagle Projects. YAY!!!
Today, we got up early, and went and set up the Race stuff, helped with the breakfast stuff, and was ready for registration at 6:00. The race was good, but there was a problem with the computer, so it took a long time to get the results, and to get the Awards Ceremony:(, other than that it was a good success. We had only 30 Pre-register, and finished the race with 55 Participants registered. So I think that it went pretty good.
Thats all for now:)

2009 Ragnar Relay :)
Our team ran 188 miles, split into 12 people, ech running 3 legs. It was way fun, and I can even walk normal today:)I think that the best part of the race, was cheering on the other racers, Our van was the only ones that would cheer on any other runners but our own, It didn't matter what team you were on, we were cheering for you. I think that from the reaction that we got from the runners, if there was a vote on their favorite van (Beside their own) It would be ours. :)
I am so glad that I did It, and didn't back out, like I thought that I would a few times, especially after the Tri where they doubled our run to 6 miles. I can't wait to do it next year, as we have already signed up for the 2010 Ragnar.
GO RAGNAR!!!

School, Horses, Triathlons, and Drivers Ed
I know that I always ask where the time has gone, but lately it has flied. College has been out for about 2 weeks, where J. Graduated with his Associates Degree on my birthday, May 1st
J I turned 15 on that day and know I am on the roads with a learners permit.
This last weekend was the St. George Triathlon which was my like 10 or 11th tri I have doneJ It was really fun but I think it was the hardest that I have ever participated in. They canceled the swim again but instead of just doing the bike and run, they made it a run, bike, run event, giving us a 10K to run instead of a 5K. I got 8th in my age division, and the rest of the family did great including J, who got 2hd in his age division and C, racing J got 7th.

There is a horse clinic that is goingon at Connies that ws way fun to go and watch today.
I figured out that My class that I thought I had another 2 weeks to finish was due to be done last week:-(
I pretty sure that I am getting good grades at college, and I find myself wanting to play the harp again.
My family is doing well, Dixie lost the State Torniment for B-ball. So Jed was pretty sad about that but life goes on:-)

He Moves Mountains in Me
He is such a great example to me and to all of us. I know that I have a Savior that Love's me and came to the earth to Atone for my sins. I know that He has not only suffered for my sins but went through every thing that I feel, my bad days and my good day's, My sorrow and my Joy, my sadness and my happiness. I am So thankful that Christ went through the Atonement so that I can return to him some day. I know that if I keep trying to do my Best that He will make up the difference.

What a Week
Well, since I posted last I started to write in a real journal every night so I haven't really thought about my blog. I am Feeling kind of down for it seems no reason at all, (If you don't count Mom, Dad, and Jed all Stressed for different reasons, and not getting to do what you are supposed to do because you are needed somewhere else). I have had a few days this week that I haven't felt like I belong at places. I don't really have any friends that are my age in my ward and so I don't really have someone to talk to at church and it seems that in school that I am just some weird kid that shouldn't be at college or a 10-12th grade seminary class.
On Sunday at Mission Prep (it was also Super-bowl Sunday) the Lyles made a great dinner for after we brook our fast after Mission prep and we called ourselves the "Anti-Super-Bowl- Groupies";-) that was fun.
I got to go on a horse back ride this morning and also Saturday. It is so fun to go out in the hills bareback on you horse. I went to try to see the Sunrise this morning but missed it by about 2 minutesL
One of my favorite songs is called "Names" it is on my playlist if you want to listen, It is all about the Names that Jesus Christ is called by That I really love.

Civil Rights Day
Today is Civil Rights Day, 2009. This morning we read most of a book – "I have a Dream" about Martian Luther King Jr. I learned that Martian Luther King Jr. was part of getting busses in the south not segregated. I also learned that he went to school in the North and was one of 6 blacks in the school.
I know that I haven't posted since before Christmas so I will catch up on life, I got a new saddle form my Dad for Christmas and I love it. We also got a Wii as a family and that was/is fun, I started another semester at school and am now taking 12 Collage credits at Dixie State.
I guess that's it for now.
